I didn't finish work til late, but thankfully, Jimi's crew hadn't left to skate the city yet when I finally got there. I took some cheap bearings home, via the bridge, with a beer. CL and FA were there, so I hung out for a minute before I swung by the house to get the skateboard. Then I headed to the three stairs park to install the bearings. I had to pick btween another set of the worst wheels in the world, or, the best, made a company that has something to do with skeletons. I went with the skeleton wheels.
I can't believe how good these wheels are. I never really gave a shit about wheels, or anything else, but hte moment I put them on, I was grinding and sliding at least twice as far as usual on every trick. Amazing.
These wheels talk more too. Clickity clickity clickity clackclackclackclack and ticticticticCLACKCLACKCLACKCLACK and TUGATUGATUGATUGA TUGA TUGA tuga tuga tuga tu ga tu ga tug tug tug tug, then
clickTIC clickTIC clickTIC and so on, over the tiles.
Best of all, when you land a little bit off center, they chirp like birds. I forgot how fucking fast new bearings roll on monster truck wheels. I was gaining speed on flat, like perpetual motion machines.
I pushed up to the temple, maybe putting my foot down half a dozen times in a mile. It was uphill. When I got there, everything went ot shit, maybe because I had put away a couple of beers on the way. I just couldn't **-** the ledge. My back truck kept coming off. Again and again, for a couple of hours. I started to get pissed like I never do, and kicked and swore and tore at my hair and my shirt and threw my skateboard and stomped around and swore some more. Maybe life has been more stressful lately than I really admitted. Also, I hate these fucking shoes. They go from zero grip to double the necessary grip in 1 degree of ankle rotation. I did slide some long as fuck ** *****s on the marble step at the store near the temple, and then **-**d across the carpet for the first time on the way home, but I fell off at the end, and security was already raising the gate, so I didn't get to try agian. Then I skated the red curb and *******d at least three times the distance I usually do. I honestly never appreciated how important wheels are for grinding. I am instantly twice as good as before, just by putting them on. Unfortunatly, I sucked before, so I only suck half as much now.
******s, + 9, so um, maybe I've done 20 total? not sure.
edit: +5 so 18 ttal?
