Deft scam avoidance

I can't skate from neck pain, and I'm fat, so I've been running. Not much, but I ran yesterday, and at the end of it, a skinhead chigwai laowai with blood on his face crossed the sidewalk and gave me a bad feeling. He explained he had just been mugged on the MRT and needed $100. It's maybe the second or third time anyone's ever tried to scam since I came here. I suggested that he visit the police, since any mugging in broad daylight on the MRT would almost certainly make national news here. He made a weird face and went off to find other victims. Foreigners are weird.
